Hi

Here’s another short, no-nonsense newsletter from Alan Howarth – and a bit more Eat the Frog.

This time - Why you should use video on your website.

  1. Video on your website increases the potential of a first page Google rank by 5,000%
  1. Online advertising has overtaken TV advertising revenue – video puts your business at the same level as any business in the world, anywhere in the world.
  1. Video will engage your clients and website visitors – keeping them on your website – increasing their knowledge of your business.
  1. One to Three minutes is the optimum video length – it gives you time to tell your story.
  1. Online video is opt-in whereas TV advertising is interruptive – it gets you a massive 68% more attention and concentration from your viewer compared to T.V.
  1. An incredible 97% (my experience, my video production) of video viewers click through to further web site pages – because their interest and attention has been captured.
  1. Professional Video for the web is probably less expensive than you think.

Call me, let’s talk.

Now, as requested, more condensed chapters from Eat the Frog

3 – Remember Pareto’s 80/20 Principle. Using the lists you’ve made (you did make lists, didn’t you?) 20% of the items will have 80% effectiveness – do those first.

4 – All your decisions and tasks should take you towards your long-term goal – strategic planning not fire fighting – look at those lists again!

OK, that’s another two chapters, 17 more to come.

Your homework for this week:

Think about the reasons you should use video on your website, and consider very carefully before deciding to do-it-yourself - Remember those early D I Y desktop publishing disasters? And make sure it’s relevant information for your clients, not dancing graphics, Google may not yet be able to distinguish good video from bad, but your potential clients certainly can.

Best

Alan
