Hi |
I went to a seminar yesterday; the keynote speaker was Scott Milligan from the Disneyland University. |
Here’s a story he told that sums up the Disney ethos. |
Back in 1955 when Disneyland was first opening his ‘Imagineers’ created some animatronic birds. |
The tech guys were excited with the birds they produced, but Walt Disney said, “Can we do it better?” |
The birds did everything they needed to do, but they didn’t appear to breathe in and out. |
The tech guys said, “No one will notice, and no one would expect them to breathe in and out anyway.” |
Walt Disney said, “If 1% do notice, it’ll exceed their expectations and they’ll say ‘WOW, look at that!’ |
So the tech guys did it better and the animatronic birds began to breathe. |
And Disneyland grew to what it is today on ‘Can we do it better?’ |
The second benefit of the ‘Can we do it better’ - make you client say “Wow!” Disney-ism – is word of mouth marketing |
‘Wow’ is the only thing that’ll create positive WORD OF MOUTH for your business. |
You’ll never get a WOW giving your clients what they expect – you deliver that or die! |
Your opportunities to Wow clients lie in delivering in areas they don’t expect! |
‘Can we do it better’ is a great ethos to run your business by. |
I’ve tried to make it mine . . . though sometimes I don’t get one I do always strive for a Wow from my clients |
For instance: |
No one’s going to say – Alan’s a brilliant photographer, my face was in focus! |
But listen to this

|
No one’s going to say Alan’s a brilliant the video producer, he did was just what I expected! |
But listen to this

|
So, where can your business excel? |
Find out what your client’s expect – and do it. |
Find out what will WOW your clients – and do that too! |
Then call me! Together, using photography and video, we’ll show your potential new clients how your birds breathe in and out. |
C’mon , let’s get them to say ‘WOW’ about you and your business. |
Best
Alan |
